Obituary of Bookie M. Nichols

A private burial was held in Texas for Bookie Nichols who passed away at her Santa Cruz home at the age of 92.  Born in Gainsville, she moved to Santa Cruz in 1962 following her husband’s retirement from the Air Force.   For more than 28 years, Bookie worked as a store manager with Harts Fabric in Santa Cruz and Watsonville.  She was a long time member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Santa Cruz, and cherished the time spent with her children, granddaughter, and great grandchildren at her midtown Santa Cruz home that she and her husband lived for more than 65 years.

Bookie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jack R. Nichols in 2002.

She is survived by her sons; Richard C. (Aline) and Jack M. Nichols; her two granddaughters; Cynthia Pannu and Jennifer Oldfield; six great grandchildren.

She was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Gainsville, Texas, beside her beloved husband, Jack R. Remembrances may be made in her memory by donating to your local Hospice.
