Obituary of Ivan Diego-Garcia
Services will be Sunday and Monday in Santa Cruz for Ivan Garcia who passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2021 at the young age of 37. He will always be remembered as a loving family man and devoted to his wife Stephanie, his sons, A.J. and Isaac, his parents Nestora and Juvenal; mother-in-law Gale, and his brothers Hugo, Juvenal Jr., and Marvin. Ivan also leaves his nephews Maverick and Isaiah, his niece, Alenna and his sisters-in-law, Ellie, Monica, and Jennifer along with his grandparents and countless other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
As a youngster, he enjoyed skateboarding, bike riding and soccer. As a adult, Ivan enjoyed gardening, taking care of his home, and anything that had to do with his boys. His happiest moments continued with skateboarding, bike riding, playing baseball and taking trips with his family. There are no words to explain what a phenomenal father Ivan was, his life truly revolved around his family.
Cherished memories of a devoted father, husband, son and brother, who stopped at no length to put a smile on his loved ones faces, will continue to live on in their lives.
Through the most difficult, lowest points in his life, Ivan never gave in and strove to fight his way back to the top. To know him was to know strength. Ivan looked forward to aspirations to reach before his life was cut short. He will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will gather for a viewing on Sunday March 28th from 12 to 7 p.m. at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on March 29th at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church (515 Frederick Street) in Santa Cruz beginning at 11 a.m. Committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
