Obituary of Bryce Byron Biddle

Bryce Byron Biddle Bryce Byron Biddle passed away on June 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by family. He was 87. Bryce was born in Weymouth, Mass. on April 24, 1924 to Carrol and Urlene Biddle. He was raised in Dunsmuir, Ca, moved several times, and eventually settled in Santa Cruz in 1963. Bryce worked for the State of California retiring as a Coastal Region District Administrator for the Employment Development Dept. after 41 years. He also served in the United States Army from 1943-1946 serving in both Italy and Africa. Bryce always loved old cars, and he and his wife, Alta, would buy and sell them. He was always up for a game of cards, whether it be poker or bridge. In later years, he and Alta were regulars at the Capitola Wharf and spent many wonderful days at the Capitola Bait and Boat shop. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alta Mae Biddle; his sons, Kevin (Kathy) of Houston, Texas, Michael (Debbie) of Felton, Ca, Douglas (Sybil) of Santa Cruz, Ca; his daughter, Shannon Aydelotte of Castro Valley, Ca; his eleven grandchildren, Alan, William (Jeanna), Nick, Brianna, Lindsey (Daniel), Tyna, Jordan, Siena, Jack, Pearl and Sammy; and a great granddaughter, Claire. A private family service will be held for Bryce. In lieu of flowers, contributions my be made in his name to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Dr., Scotts Valley, Ca 95066, or a charity of your choice.
