Obituary of Leif Jorgen Petersen

Leif Jorgen Petersen died peacefully at his Scotts Valley home on August 27, 2012 at the age of 80. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark to Svend and Arona Petersen, he has been a resident of Santa Cruz County for the past 30 years. He served in the Danish Army, and later worked as a deep-sea diver in Greenland to earn money to come to America. Mr. Petersen was a self made man and entrepreneur in the truest form. A long time resident of Redwood City, he started up numerous companies including a window replacement store he named 'The Two Danes". He sold that firm, opened a delicatessen "A Bit of Copenhagen", and upon selling it, founded "Continental Industries" which specialized in Liquid Crystal. Mr. Petersen founded Top Tool; a precision plastic injection molding firm. He and his beloved wife of 42 years, Robin, enjoyed a wonderful retirement and traveled the world after selling his business. He was an avid supporter and volunteer with the Salvation Army in Santa Cruz. His wife Robin Petersen, his daughters, Michelle Salvia and Patricia Brown; his granddaughters, Rebecca Johnson and Susan Brown, and his grandsons, Nicholas Salvia and Anthony Salvia, survive Mr. Petersen. A private committal will take place. Any kind acts of charity may be made in Mr. Petersen's name to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or the Salvation Army of Santa Cruz.
