Obituary of Andrew Joseph Strong

Andrew Joseph Strong Private family services will be in Bonny Doon for Andrew Strong who passed away unexpectedly in Santa Cruz on July 19, 2012, at the age of 44. Born in Santa Clara, he lived his entire life in Santa Cruz County. One of 11 children, he was the youngest boy. His mother and father, who had adopted eight of their children, were very proud of the togetherness and devotion that their large family shared. Andy loved the outdoors, especially the beach and enjoyed cooking and sharing his creations with his girlfriend. Andy was a graduate of Santa Cruz High School, and worked at the Boardwalk for years. He spent his last few years living at the Jesse Street housing complex where he had many close friends. He is survived by his father, Edward Charles Strong, his ten siblings, his companion and friend of 17 years, Debbie Jacobson, her daughter, Leticia Stokes, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Strong in 2009.
