Obituary of Nora Anita Franks

A private memorial will be held in Capitola for Elnora Anita Franks (Nora), who passed away at the age of 80 on May 23rd in Capitola, California. She was a resourceful and dedicated mother who at the age of 16, gave birth to the first of her five beloved children. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, she moved to Santa Cruz in 1964. Nora was a remarkable woman whose intelligence was demonstrated throughout all of her creative writings. She was a voracious reader and accomplished poet whose passion and thirst for knowledge was an inspiration to all whose lives she enriched. Nora also had an immense talent for crocheting, embroidery and sewing. Her trust in people and her huge heart provided an open door to everyone she met. Nora leaves her five children, Christine Gaydos, Jarius Avgaavar, Anita Franks, Cindy Crenshaw, and Shawna Franks; her 12 grandchildren Chrisonda Machon,Awnesha Monrreal, Kyle Franks, Jordan Franks, Jacob Wheeler, Carrie Pangelina, Gina Jenks, Eve Crenshaw, Taylor Crenshaw, Grant Crenshaw, Jackson Fisher and Samson Fisher; her 4 great-grandchildren Baris Loberg, Riley Jenks, Savanna Machon, Eshiana Coleman, Enzo and Gemma Pangelina. One of 9 children, she was preceded in death by six of her siblings and survived by her sister Bonita Payne, and brother Bill Sedam. Nora's husband, Gerald Woodrow Franks, preceded her in death in 1991. Nora would wish everyone she loved to celebrate their own lives in the way she lived hers; with love, generosity, joy, resilience and grace.
