Obituary of Rae Jean Fearnehough

A private family graveside ceremony will be in Santa Cruz for Rae Jean Fearnehough who passed away in Santa Cruz on November 29th at the age of 88. Born in Reedley, California to Ray Reed and Elsie Bollin Reed, she was the great granddaughter of T.L. Reed, a pioneer from Ohio, for whom the town of Reedley is named. Jean, as she was affectionately known by her friends and family moved to Santa Cruz in 1945 with her husband Jim. They raised their family here as Jean became active in many organizations, and involved in her children's education. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, whose hobbies included oil painting and gardening. Jean endured many hardships in her long life, including the passing of her husband Jim in 1962 and her daughter Cathie Dominguez this past July. The love and support for her family was paramount in here life, and her dedication and devotion to her loved ones will always be cherished. She is survived by her sons, Marcus Fearnehough (Kathy) and Michael Fearnehough (Margy), both of Santa Cruz, and Steven Fearnehough of Alaska. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jim, her daughter Cathie, and her younger brother Ed Reed of Fountain Valley, Jean also leaves her loving grandchildren: James Taylor Fearnehough II (Jennifer), Matthew Fearnehough (Anne), Alison Dominguez, and her great grandsons, James Taylor Fearnehough III, and Jacob Fearnehough both of Washington.
