Obituary of Thomas Bassett Fleming

Thomas Fleming Thomas B. Fleming fondly known as Irish passed away on September 16, 2010 at the age of 85 after many years of declining health. He was born in Portrush, Co. Londonderry, N. Ireland on August 10, 1925. He was a proud iron worker for 30 years in the Bay Area with local 378. He resided with his family part time in Capitola in the 1960's then moved permanently to Soquel in 1974. Irish was a great story teller, singer and golfer, but his real passion was fishing for salmon in the Monterey Bay in his beloved boat, Leprechaun. Preceded in death in 2007 by his loving wife, Anna of 55 years, brother Bill and sister Jesse of the U.K. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Fleming of Soquel, Moira Fleming (Shawn Runyan) of Santa Cruz, son Craig Fleming (Marie Yoo) of Santa Cruz, sisters, Kathleen and Ina, sister-in-laws, Betty, Eleanor and brother Butch all of the U.K., and sister-in-law, Moray in Canada. He also leaves his grandchildren, Anthony, Robert, Bailee, Riley and great grandson Aidan. A private scattering of Irish and Anna's ashes will be held soon at sea.
