Obituary of Leslie Herum

Services will be on Saturday in Santa Cruz for Leslie Herum who passed away at Dominican Hospital on January 18, 2014 following a very brief illness. Born in Santa Cruz, she was 61 years old. Leslie graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1971, and was a loving person who had an affinity for walking. Her "Daily" long walks, common for Leslie, and the pace she would set was definitely not a causal stroll. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her love for baking. She was talented in the kitchen; creating wonderful treats for all. She had a deep affection and concern for animals. She loved all of God's creatures, and even though this part of her journey seemed too short, her love and devotion to family and loved ones, continues to remain in their hearts. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Andrew Herum, her son, Severin Herum, and daughter Jeanette Herum all of Santa Cruz, and a host of loving friends and extended family. The celebration of her life will be on Saturday, January 25th at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel beginning at 1 P.M. Friends may pay their respects at a viewing on Saturday morning at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the ceremony begins. A private committal will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mausoleum.
