Ricky graduated from Silver Creek High School, attended San Jose City College, and served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. He returned from the service and later graduated from Chico State. He was employed as a solutions specialist for Life Scan in Milpitas. Ricky was a talented college athlete; running track at Chico State, and later began a career in competitive cycling. His family will forever remember his love for trying to achieve his personal best, and encouraging others to the same. He helped coach both of his sons in their youth soccer league, and enjoyed the camaraderie of participating on a number of charity bike rides. He had a tremendous love for the outdoors, especially on outings with his family and his beloved dogs. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Michele Lucero and his sons, Cameron and Aidan all of Scotts Valley.
