Obituary of Manuel Araujo

Services will be in Santa Cruz on Friday and Saturday for Manuel Araujo who passed away in Santa Cruz on November 28, 2013, following a lengthy illness. Born in Brawley, California, he was raised in Pescadero, California, and graduated from Pescadero High School. For more than 25 years, Mr. Araujo worked as a Construction Forman for Richard & Peterson Brothers Construction in Pescadero. He was an expert framer, and passed on many of his craftsman skills to his sons. Mr. Araujo served his country in the US Army where he received the highest scores in his class, for his knowledge and talents in the automobile mechanics. He loved working on any type of auto, and many fond memories of Manuel's passion for cars and trucks will be shared forever by his family and friends. He was an accomplished artists too, and many beautiful drawings and paintings of his will be cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his 6 sons, Mike, Eric, Danny, Anthony, Manuel, and Angel Araujo, his daughters, Crystal and Andrea, and 15 beloved grandchildren. He also leaves his two sisters, Lillian Fitzgibbons, and Pearl Araujo, and his brothers: Gilbert, Sammy, and David Araujo. Mr. Araujo was preceded in death by his wife, Tomasa Flores in 2002. Friends may pay their respects at a viewing to be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel from 12 noon to 8 p.m. The burial ceremony will be on Saturday, December 7th, beginning at 12 noon at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2271 7th Ave. in Santa Cruz.
