Obituary of Juana Mosqueda

Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in Santa Cruz on Monday and Tuesday for Juana Mosqueda who passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Santa Cruz home on March 22, 2013. Born in Mexico, she would have celebrated her 59th birthday on April 2nd. Miss Mosqueda was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church, and for the past 13 years, was employed at UCSC, where she leaves many dear friends that she had made on campus through the years. She was a loving sister and aunt who dedicated herself to helping raise her nieces, nephews, as a beloved member of the Prez family. Her family will forever cherish the many memories of Juana's mischievous side; sometimes covering up for the children's antics. She was also an accomplished seamstress, and appreciated good food and great company. Juana is survived by her sister, Yolanda Perez, her two nieces, Sandra Esparza and Elvira Perez; great niece, Gnesis Itzel Esparza, and great nephew, Angel Andrs Millan Prez She also leaves her three brothers, Antonio, Domingo, and David Mosqueda all of Mexico. Friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. The rosary will begin Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the chapel. The funeral mass is celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church (515 Frederick Street) Santa Cruz beginning at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz beside her nephew Cpl. Andrs Prez U.S.M.C. and his father, Hipolito Prez who both preceded her in death.
