Obituary of Paulette A Grinager

Private services are planned for Paulette Grinager who passed away on October 24, 2011 in Santa Cruz, following a brave battle that she fought against cancer. Born in Washburn, Wisconsin to Arthur and Paula Maynard, she was 67 years old. Her father worked as a minister and a professor of Theology. Paulette lived many places during her father's career including University of Miami, and University of the Pacific in Stockton. She attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from UC Davis. For more than 25 years Paulette taught preschool and kindergarten. She loved to work with young people, and her teaching brought both joy and many cherished accomplishments. She and her husband of 34 years, Joel, loved to play tennis together. Paulette also loved to garden and enjoyed completing fix up projects at her home and various rental investments. She loved music, exercised by dancing to the oldies, and the last few years of her life, really loved to do cross word puzzles. She was a wonderful mom; helping to raise Joel's sons, Robert and Bill, and dearly loved their three sons. She also leaves her brother and sister in-law Dr. Kent Maynard and Susan Maynard and their two daughters. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt. She acted as a caregiver, volunteering her time at local convalescent hospitals, and cared for her mother in-law who suffered from ALS; deeply mourning her passing.
