Obituary of Richard Earl Berg

Richard Earl (Dick) Berg passed away on May 1, 2010 in Capitola. He was 83. Dick was born in Canton, Ohio on January 14, 1927 to Grover and Myrtle Berg. Dick was raised with his five siblings in Pittsburgh, PA before he moved to Capitola, Ca. Dick attended Bellevue High School there. During his life Dick was a Seamen 1st Class in the U.S. Navy. He was also a truck driver for Granite Rock for almost 30 years. He was an avid golfer, and loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and visiting with his grandchildren. He was also a member of Sons in Retirement. Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Kathleen Berg; his sisters, Ruth, Mary, and Margaret; and his brothers, Robert and Barney. He was survived by his children Kathy Moore of Ferndale, Ca; Sally Standage of Roy, UT; David Berg of Capitola, Ca; and Robert Berg of Aptos, Ca. He is also survived by two grandchildren. Dick enjoyed a simple life, and his number one priority was always the well being of his family. "We will miss you always." A private family Memorial was held for Dick.
