Obituary of Nancy Weeks Olds

Nancy Weeks Olds passed away on June 1, 2012. She was 90. Nancy was born on July 8, 1921 in Albany, Ca. She attended elementary schools in San Francisco including Parkside, Jefferson, Livermore, and Portland Elementary. Her family then relocated to Oregon where she attended Hillsboro and Jefferson High in Portland. Nancy later attended Golden Gate Business College and had a 30 year career as a banker. Although most of her adult life was spent in San Jose and Santa Cruz, Nancy lived at various Military Posts with her husband Guy Blood including Germany. Nancy enjoyed bowling, sewing and knitting. She conquered her fear of flying by soloing and getting her license in 1965. Nancy was very active in the senior center for 23 years and with her Christian Science Church, she was also a member of Eastern Star and Soroptomist Club. Nancy was a widow, but was survived by her son, Roy B. Blood; and her step-children, Dale and Alan Olds, Marilyn Parsley, and Robert Snider; as well as, 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Her last wishes were for cremation and for her ashes to be scattered in her beloved sea near Santa Cruz.
