Obituary of Robert Wayne Bazarnick

Private services will be held for Robert Bazarnick who passed away peacefully at his Soquel home on July 25, 2013, following a lengthy illness. Born in Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York, he was 61 years old. He excelled in high school gymnastics, earning a state championship, and moved from New York to Santa Cruz nearly 40 years ago. "D2" (D squared) as he was affectionately to his close friends, worked as a greens keeper at De La Veaga Golf course for 22 years. He leaves many dear friends and colleagues who worked with him, and shared their love for the outdoors. An avid camper, he also enjoyed riding his bicycle, and was a familiar face on the Bookshop Santa Cruz city league softball team. He loved the time spent with his family, and enjoyed his coaching days with his daughters when they were in youth sports. He leaves his two daughters; Saroj Groebler and Selene Bazarnick and their mom, Sita Moon all of Santa Cruz; his brothers, Richard, Michael and Steven Bazarnick all of Santa Cruz, and his grandchildren: William, Samantha, Lili, and Alyssa. Mr. Bazarnick also leaves his loving companion and partner, Colleen Fleming of Soquel.
