Earl Duntley Jr.

Obituary of Earl Raymond Duntley Jr.

Once returning home Earl owned and operated several successful diners, his first being the Jiffy Diner in Rochester, NH. In 1965 Earl headed west and settled in Santa Cruz. He continued his success as a restaurant owner by operating The Tip-Top Diner in Santa Cruz. Toward the end of his career Earl retired from and ran the Rancho Del Mar coffee shop in Aptos. Earl will be remembered most as a man who enjoyed the outdoors. He was happiest when he was fishing on his boat "Ole Bob". Earl also loved to dance, and many would consider him an expert. He was very proud of his service in WWII and continued his service as the past commander of the American Legion post #7 in Rochester N.H. and as a member of the VFW in Santa Cruz. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Duntley, and he will be deeply missed by his four children, Tamara Colby of Concord, NH; Thomas Duntley of Sutton, NH; Timothy Duntley of Rochester, NH and Theodore Duntley of Rochester, NH; his brother John Duntley of Alton, NH; his stepsons, William Castro of Santa Cruz and Melvin Farmer of Montana; his Stepdaughter, Paulette Rosa of Santa Cruz; his 9 grandchildren and his 11 great grandchildren. Earl's family would also like to extend a special thank you to Earl's step-granddaughter Melissa Pinsley for all the love and care she gave to him.
