Obituary of Noel Adam Hamilton

Noel Adam Hamilton, our beloved son, brother, and uncle passed on Monday evening, June 27, 2011. He was walking his bicycle up Old San Jose Road, heading home, when he was struck by a car. Sadly, it was a hit and run. Noel was born at home on November 16, 1979, in the small town of Crowley Lake, California, on the eastern side of the Sierra Mountains - located just a few miles from the resort of Mammoth Lakes, Noel enjoyed his first few years playing in the snow and learning how to ski. In the spring of 1983, Noel moved with his mother, Laura, and brother, Jesse, to Santa Cruz, California. Noel was a gentle, loving child with a gift of creative imagination. He enjoyed sharing his thoughts and ideas openly. Throughout his teens and into his adult self, he maintained his gentle spirit - he was an easy-going and calming individual. Noel's favorite school was 'Mountain School'. At a young age, he bonded in friendships, which would last throughout his adult life. These friendships were expressed in mutual respect and honor, holding a rare sincerity of love and caring. Noel was a creative conceptual artist. For many years, he worked in ceramic and created many unique pots and sculptures. His enjoyment of art took him to Cabrillo College after high school. After a few semesters, Noel decided to travel. He and a couple of close friends journeyed through Europe with backpacks. Noel would say, "It was the time of my life". He also traveled to Kauai, Mexico, Canada, and within the United States. Noel's most loved and highly skilled profession was as a silk screener. For over five years, his desire for creating high quality pieces made him appreciated and acknowledged by employers and friends. Noel continued to live in Santa Cruz, with his father, Brian, until his passing at age 31 years old. Noel is greatly missed and will forever remain in the hearts of those who deeply love him. A special thank you to all family and friends, who loved Noel so well throughout his time here. And, to Rosey, who graciously held space in an honoring way for Noel, during his transition. Noel went on ahead, and left behind, his mother Laura Sutherland, his father Brian Hamilton, his brother Jesse Hamilton, his nephews Dakoda, and James, and his niece Destiny.
