Frederick Henry Yost January 13, 1958 - June 6, 2012 ------------- Frederick Henry Yost passed away at his home in Santa Cruz, CA on June 6, 2012 at the age 54. He was born in Stockton, California on January 13th 1958. He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth and JamesYost of Stockton, California, his brother, Paul B. Yost of Seal Beach, CA, Paul's wife Elisabeth and their two children Christine and Nikki and by his aunt, Margaret Lou Cornelius of Linden, California. Fred attended Stockton schools, graduating from Victory Elementary, Webster Jr. High, and Stagg High School, where he held several swimming records and played water polo. He completed his college education graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 1981. He later obtained an MBA. Fred worked as an accounting manager at Ledyard Foods where he was well respected, appreciated and loved. Fred had a lifelong love of Santa Cruz and the ocean from his boy hood days at Seabright Beach. He later moved to Santa Cruz permanently. Fred greatly enjoyed the outdoors kayaking, swimming, running, biking, and playing water polo. Over the last several years, Fred trained seriously and competed in triathlons and distance swimming. He was training for an Iron Man competition in November. Fred was loved and adored by all who knew his infectious smile and always positive personality. Some of the comments about him by his friends are "Thank You Fred Yost, every one of us loves You" "Fred our smiley face, our cheerleader, our teacher, and a wonderful friend to us all, You will be missed dearly" "I'll miss you Fred Yost He always had a smile for you, expected nothing, gave everything. Simply, one of the best men I've known". Fred's favorite sayings are "Angels fly because they take themselves lightly" and "The Earth has music for those who listen".
