Marcia -- We at the Live at Home Foundation were so blessed to have Hal on our Board. His infectious smile and twinkling eyes were but outward manifestations of of a truly caring soul. You and he were the perfect match in that way and many others. Susan and I send you our love.

Hal was a wonderful man whom I got to know while working at SCCCC. He was the Board of Director's rep for the Stepping Out program when it merged with the SOS program. His positive outlook and facilitative approach helped assure the success of that transition. He was an active Board member and incredibly supportive of these programs and the clients they served -and also for me as the new Director. Years later I would encounter him parked on West Cliff Drive meditating on the ocean. Even with his failing health, he would always greet me with the utmost warmth and good humor. I will miss him.

A man of wonderful spirit, kind and compassionate to all, curious and positive. Hal set the example of what being "human" is all about.
Our condolences to you, Marcia, and all Hal's family and friends.

For the Margolin Family;
Every heart that has beat strongly and cheerfully
has left a hopeful impulse behind in the world,
and bettered the tradition of human kind.
Quote: R.L. Stevenson
I had a chance meeting with Hal at Trader Joe's last fall.
I told him that working at Yucca Trails ('75-76) was one of my favorite early jobs.
Hal remembered so many of the friends that worked there at the time. It was a sweet conversation.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Elaine H.
