Obituary of Jake Head

JAKE L. HEAD Memorial services will be held in Corralitos for Jake Head who passed away peacefully at his Corralitos home on July 4, 2011. Born in Comet, Missouri, he was 85 years old. Jake was raised in Armona, California, and attended school in Armona and Hanford. He served his country in the U.S Navy Armed Guard and was very proud of his military career. He worked in the grocery business first with Raley's Market in Sacramento, and before retirement, he worked 25 years as store manager at Corralitos Market. His many friends, customers, and fellow employees, will miss him dearly. Jake had a special love for the students from the various schools in the area that visited the market in Corralitos. Jake organized the annual baseball game that involved the youth of Corralitos, and was also involved in the construction of the Padres Community Center. He loved to garden and was a genuine live-in handyman for his beloved wife Marilyn. Jake is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Head of Corralitos, his nephew, Leonard Baker and family, of Hanford, and his dog, Daisy Mae. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at Padres Community Center on Browns Valley Road, beginning at 3 o'clock p.m. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Ca. at a later date.
