Carrie McCoid

Obituary of Carrie Marie Dianda McCoid

Carrie Marie Dianda McCoid, passed away suddenly due to an undetermined viral infection, on the evening of October 3, 2012. She was 37 years old. Carrie was born in Santa Cruz on November 1, 1974 and was raised in Felton by her parents Bill and Carolyn Dianda. She attended San Lorenzo Valley Elementary, Junior High and High school and graduated with her Associates degree from Cabrillo College. Carrie was preceded in death by her husband Josh McCoid on March 18, 2012, they were married for 10 years. Carrie is survived by her step-son, Jakob McCoid, and daughter Maryella McCoid, her parents Bill and Carolyn Dianda, Sister and Brother- in-law Gina Dianda Bahten and Shawn Bahten, and her nieces Ashley and Megan Bahten, and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Rick and Gerri McCoid. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carrie grew up in Felton and went to elementary through high school at SLV. She coached cheerleading and taught dance classes for over 15 years throughout the community. Two years ago her lifelong dream came true; she became the proud owner of Steps Dance Studio in Watsonville where she continued to teach. Prior to owning the studio, she worked as a real estate agent through Bailey Properties in Aptos. She was also one of the founders of Hot Rods at the Beach car show in Santa Cruz that is now celebrating its 15th year and it has awarded many scholarships to industrial arts students in the county. Carrie danced and lived with her whole soul and loved with her whole heart. She had an everlasting passion for life and a will that could not be broken. She had a courage and strength that inspired admiration even in those who never met her. She never lost sight of what was important, family, friends, love & laughter. She was so loved by all who had the honor of knowing her, she was that special someone to so many people. She was gifted and talented, smart & charismatic, funny & beautiful. One of her favorite sayings was, " believe in yourself and all things are possible". She was a leader, not a follower, a healer, a true friend, a mentor, a teacher, a loving and devoted Daughter, Sister, Aunt, cousin and more, but what she loved most in life was being a Mother. So few people ever live and love as she did. To simply say she will be missed would be an understatement of great magnitude and vast proportion. She was the best of all of us in one very special package, her gifts too many to name and far too great to ever forget. Services will be held on Sunday October 28th at 5:30pm at Twin Lakes Church, 2701 Cabrillo College Dr., Aptos, CA.
