Obituary of Page Gruys

Page Gruys Page Gruys, 42, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on April 19, 2012 at his Soquel home after being recently diagnosed with cancer. He was born in Santa Cruz and graduated from Harbor High School. His greatest joy in life was being super dad to Gavin and Logan and husband to Angie. Since a young age Page enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with his grandfather, gold mining with his father, and climbing and snowboarding with his friends. He loved exploring and traveled to Italy, Alaska, New York, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon and took many camping trips. A family trip to Yellowstone last summer where he taught his sons how to fly-fish was very special to Page. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he shared his passion of motocross with his sons teaching them both to ride almost as soon as they could walk. For 23 years he worked at Rinaldi Tile where he began along side his father as a tile setter. He continued his craft there until his recent illness. Page will be greatly missed by a host of loving friends and co-workers. He is survived by his wife Angie Stuart Gruys and sons Gavin and Logan Gruys all of Soquel; his mother and father, Ellen Davidson of Santa Cruz, and Bob "Fuzzy" Gruys of Cave Junction, Oregon and his niece, Samantha Gruys of Santa Cruz. His brother, Levi Gruys, died in 2009. The service will be Thursday, May 3 at 6 PM at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. An educational trust fund has been established for his sons' education.
