Obituary of Katherine B. Sperow

Katherine "Kay" Sperow Nov. 11, 1935-Dec. 1, 2011 Our devoted mother, Katherine Sperow, passed away peacefully, after a two year struggle with congestive heart failure. We, Laura Watson Azzaro, Mary Watson Loberman, and Robert (Bob) Watson will forever be grateful that she and our father, Robert (Bob) D. Watson raised us among an extended clan of Greeks that began in San Francisco, Ca., where she was born and raised. She taught us the value of a close knit family and to appreciate a well prepared Greek dish. She was a loyal, helpful friend to many. She was a strong advocate of education, which she demonstrated by entering the Women's Re-entry program at Cabrillo College and obtaining her A.A. She was so supportive of everything we pursued, encouraging us every step along our journeys. She loved her roses, a good party, and a smart looking outfit. Our mother enjoyed her furry friends, too, adopting various cats and dogs over the years. We will celebrate her life at a private gathering. To honor her memory, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the animal rescue organization of your choice. OPA!!
