LeAnn Campbell

Obituary of LeAnn Campbell

Leann Campbell passed away peacefully at her Santa Cruz home on February 16, 2014. Born in Santa Cruz, she was 52 years old. LeAnn was a dedicated daughter, sister and friend. She loved to garden, and had a wonderful way with animals; especially cats. LeAnn lived in many different places after being born here. Her dad's assignments with Chevron found her graduating from Troy High School in Fullerton, and later attending Fullerton Junior College, Cypress College, and Ventura College before moving back here 36 years ago. For more than 16 years, LeAnn worked for Sizzler Restaurants in Fullerton, Ventura, and Danville; with some of those years at the 41rst Avenue location in Santa Cruz. She was a dedicated care giver, and enjoyed her work with Aegis Assisted living in Aptos. LeAnn was instrumental in; providing loving care for her mother Annie until her recent passing on February 14th. Many wonderful memories will be cherished of her love for holidays and her special knack for decorating. LeAnn could turn any occasion into a festive and colorful celebration. When her friends were celebrating with parties and events, LeAnn was always eager to help. She loved the beach, and her home was tastefully decorated with a nautical and ocean theme. She was a true friend even to those she barely knew. The hours that she donated to the Volunteer Center and other community organizations, were a testimony to her selfless nature. She shared many traits and loves with her mom, including annual trips to New Orleans with her. LeAnn loved every minute of interacting with the people there and with her mom, who seemed to be in the center of the celebrations. Perhaps the most obvious trait that she was her mother's daughter, was her love for shopping. LeAnn and Annie were familiar faces at the Capitola Mall, and on a first name basis at Macy's. She is survived by her father, Mal Campbell, her sister, Lori Campbell of Oxnard, and her brother Larry Campbell of San Ramon. LeAnn was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Campbell in 2011 and her mom Annie two weeks ago. A celebration of life will be held for both LeAnn and her mom, Annie, for friends and family at a later date. Any kind acts of charity can be made to the SPCA, or to Hospice of Santa Cruz in LeAnn's memory.
