Obituary of Carol Donavan Unzicker

CAROL DONOVAN UNZICKER November 12, 1940- March 1, 2012 Peacefully entered into rest on March 1st, 2012 in her Felton home at the age of 71. Went from her daughters loving arms into the arms of her Savior. Survived by her daughters Sharian of Idaho, Beth of Newark, and two granddaughters. Carol was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Carol was born in Illinois and moved to Northern California at age 12. After graduating from Arroyo High School in 1958 she married and raised two children. In 1995 she made her dream come true by graduating Cabrillo College with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. The first of her family to graduate from college, she was joyously proud! She continued her love of learning at UCSC. Her passion and creativity lead her in many directions throughout her life. She was an expert photographer, seamstress, gardener and cook. Her heart for strays, both two and four legged was evident in the ways she shared her life. Her love for Yosemite lead her to buy a home in Mariposa on the edge of the park. Hiking in the back country of Yosemite was where she was the happiest. Returning to Felton in 2001 Carol has lived and loved her life there. She was a Parks Docent, backpacker, cross country skier, and European traveler. She enjoyed classical music, Renaissance Art, time prayer, and serving in several ministries in St. Andrews Church. Loving Mommy to her cat Ollie We will miss her deeply and forever remember her smile A celebration of her life will be held at St Andrews Episcopal Church, 101 Riverside Ave, Ben Lomond on Sunday March 11, 2012 @ 2pm. Please join us after for a light potluck and treasure memories. In lieu of formal floral arrangements, her favorite garden flowers (Daisies and roses) in a simple vessel would be lovely. Please wear Spring attire as this is a celebration of her life
