Obituary of Edna Ruth Sauers

Edna Ruth Sauers passed away peacefully at her home on July 2, 2011 at the age of 101. Edna was born to Mont & Mae Hoffhines, in Oakland, CA on February 7,1910. She was a resident of Santa Cruz County for 85 years, moving here when she was sixteen years old. Edna dedicated her life to her family. Caring for them was her full-time job. She also enjoyed Crocheting and traveling in her free time. All who knew Edna knew she was an avid doll collector, with a collection of about 100 beautiful dolls. Edna is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Richard; & her sons, Richard, Bob, & Vernon Dehaven. She is survived by her Daughter Jacquelin Horn; her sons Carlton Dehaven & Mickey Dehaven; Numerous Grandchildren; Numerous Great-Grandchildren; & Numerous Great Great-Grandchildren. Services for Edna will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Pacific Gardens Chapel 1050 Cayuga St. Santa Cruz, CA, beginning at 2:00 P.M. with a procession out to her graveside at Oakwood Memorial Park 3301 Paul Sweet Rd. Santa Cruz, CA. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Heartland Hospice in Edna's name
