Obituary of Noemi - Lombera

Noemi M. Lombera, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side in Ben Lomond, CA she was 93. Noemi, better known as "Mama Memi", was born September 10, 1918 in Antunez, Michoacan Mexico to Apolonio Lombera and Maria Mora. As a child she lived on a farm with her family, she was the oldest of 12 children. Memi loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the rest of her family. She grew the most beautiful roses, she loved to crochet and she enjoyed cooking for all of her grandkids and all of their friends. Her smile was infectious, her personality was one of a kind, she will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Her strong faith in God and the Lady of Guadalupe were her comfort always. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Lourdes Aguilar and Maria Erendira Reyes, her son-in-law Armando Aguilar, her stepmother, Antonia Torres, her sisters Theresa Garcia, Mary Mendoza, her brothers Francisco, Maximo and Hliberto Lombera of Mexico, Mario Lombera of Redwood City, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with another on the way. She was preceded in death by her three sisters and her two brothers. Family and Friends may pay their respects at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St. in Santa Cruz on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel. The mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 515 Frederick St. in Santa Cruz. Burial will follow at Santa Cruz Memorial Park. A celebration of Mama Memi's life will be held at Harvey West Park, 300 Evergreen St. Santa Cruz in the BBQ area immediately following. Remembrances may be made to American Diabetes Association, Monterey and Santa Cruz.
