Obituary of Dorothy F Lendvay

Dorothy Frances Lendvay Dorothy Frances Lendvay, a long time Santa Cruz resident passed away August 10, 2010 at Driftwood Convalescent hospital. She was 89. She was born in Church Hill, Maryland and was raised in Baltimore where she graduated from high school and later attended business school. Dorothy traveled along side her husband for 17 years during his Army career. She lived in Munich and Nuremburg Germany, Monterey, Fort Belvior VA, Fort Knox, KY and Richmond, VA. She worked many years as a medical and legal secretary. She did administrative work at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey. Dorothy also taught English as a second language in Santa Cruz County programs. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Capitola. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Lendvay and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Thompson, sister, Grace Strickland and brother, Monroe Thompson.
