Obituary of Ian John Coggins

Ian J. Coggins, 54, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at home in Scotts Valley after a two year battle with Brain Cancer. He was born to John and Marion Coggins in Wales, United Kingdom, where he grew up. 5 years ago he moved to California to marry his soulmate. Ian was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. There was something about Ian that always brought out the best in people. He gave so much love to everyone he came in contact with. He would brighten any room he walked into. Throughout his illness he always maintained his strong, sarcastic sense of humor. Ian held many interests during his life including photography, fishing and cooking. He always enjoyed walking his dog, Archie. Ian loved rugby and enjoyed the occasional glass of fine scotch whiskey. Ian also spent much quality time with his family and friends, cooking gourmet comfort meals, sitting around the dining table laughing and sharing stories. During his thirty-five year career, Ian held an important position as a principal project manager within the hospitality industry in the U.K. After he came to California he became a partner of Sunsup Solar, managing the solar designs and marketing the company. Ian is survived by his wife, Peggy Coggins, son Alex Coggins, daughter Grace Coggins, stepdaughter Teresa Sasaki, stepson David Sasaki, sister Janet Bagley, brother in-law Dave Bagley, brother Andrew Coggins, sister in-law Martha Coggins, niece Charlotte Coggins, nephew Shaun Bagley.
