Obituary of Albert Marion Osterkamp

Al Osterkamp passed away on June 6, 2012 in Los Gatos at Cedar Creek Alzheimer's Care Center surrounded by family. He was born in Santa Ana, CA; raised in Twin Falls, ID; and moved to Santa Cruz in 1962. Al graduated from Gonzaga Prep and then from Gonzaga University in 1958. He worked for more than 40 years as an engineer in the aerospace industry, retiring with Lockheed Martin. Al and his wife, Rosalie, were active parishioners of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They served as both Eucharistic and Liturgical Ministers and were involved in Cursillo. He will be remembered as a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather. Al is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosalie, of Santa Cruz; his daughters and sons-in-law: Kelly and Dean Miller of Danville, CA, and Kris and Tom Trowbridge of Clayton, CA; his sons and daughters-in-law: Tim and Jean Osterkamp of Folsom, CA; Tom and Karen Osterkamp of Clayton, CA; Patrick and Kristen Osterkamp of Scotts Valley, CA; and Paul and Anne Osterkamp of San Jose, CA. He also leaves his sister, Ann Klaas of Bellevue, WA and his brothers, Herman (Flo) Osterkamp of Twin Falls and Ted (Linda) Osterkamp of Ypsilanti, MI; his 14 beloved grandchildren: Tanya, Katelyn, Dana, Brianna, Kimberly, Amanda, Janna, Katie, Nathan, Kyra, Matt, Annika, Kelly, and Sean; and his extended family members, Fr. Larry Betrozoff, and David and Carmen McCartney and family. The recitation of the rosary will be on Thursday evening June 21, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (435 Monterey Ave. in Capitola) beginning at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
