Obituary of Paul Reyes Silva

Pauly Reyes Silva passed suddenly at the young age of 32 on February 9th 2013. His life cut all too short by a senseless act of violence. Raised in Santa Cruz, CA, Pauly lived for short stints in San Francisco and New York Cites. He is survived by his wife of three years, Maeva Silva, and his daughters, Whitney Drews (12 years) and Paloma Silva (10 months), parents Paul and Jenny Silva and Eric and Cyndi Smith; four brothers and three sisters. Pauly enjoyed practicing and instructing martial arts and achieved black belt status in a variety of styles. A loving father, husband and son, who supported his family working as a plumber. He was treasured by his family and friends. Pauly valued all friendships and often referred to many of his friends as ".brothers and sisters." His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and gentle "giant" of a man who was particularly known for his optimism and enthusiasm for life. Pauly was very generous and an inspiration to all who knew him. His gregarious personality, smile and laugh will never be forgotten. Services will be held on Saturday February 16th at 9 AM., at the Pacific Garden Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz, CA.
