Todd Connor

Obituary of Todd James Connor

Longtime resident Todd Connor left this world on Saturday, May 26th 2012 to be in the restful, loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has also reunited with his Dad and Mom - Larry and Carol - and his beloved kitty, Norton. Todd was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with his identical twin brother, Chad. His family moved to San Jose, California in 1960 and then to Capitola, California in 1969. Todd, the "good looking" twin, was an excellent athlete and played Varsity basketball (had one of the sweetest jump shots ever) and baseball while attending Soquel High, and Cabrillo College. He attended Long Beach State and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice at San Jose State University. From 1983 to 1986, Todd served his country proudly in the United States Army, traveled all around the world, settling in Seoul, South Korea, and then finally Fort Bliss, Texas. He specialized in Criminal Investigations and worked in conjunction with the El Paso Police Department, specifically the undercover unit. Todd went on to work at 'Lockheed Missiles & Space Co.' in Human Resources, was an Administrative Assistant with Olsten Temporary Services, and served as an Underwriters' Assistant with 'Nonprofits Insurance Alliance.' Todd had a passion for animal rescue, particularly when it came to his own treasured kitties. He loved them all so dearly, and they will miss him. Todd regularly contributed to the local SPCA, 'Project Purr' and 'PETA,' and volunteered for animal rescues throughout his life. He was also an extremely creative writer, and wrote some phenomenal lyrics. Todd possessed great intelligence had a tremendous sense of humor and wit, and overall kindness. Todd was an active member of 'Calvary Chapel Church' in Aptos, and came to hunger and thirst for the Word of the Lord. He knew Jesus intimately, and continued to diligently seek Him in a tireless effort to serve others; which he did. Todd - often referred to as "the gentle soul," and to many their kindred Spirit - also loved, loved, loved the ocean; it was his spiritual oasis that often became his sanctuary in moments of reflection. his home away from home. Todd is survived by his twin brother, Chad, his sister, Cindy Dequine, his niece Tracy Dequine, and his grandnephew and grandniece, Jon and Alexis Dequine, respectfully. In addition, Todd is survived by his Aunts, Shirley and Colleen, and numerous cousins. But most of all, Todd is survived by his three kitties: Herman, Betsy, and Amy. In lieu of flowers, Todd would want donations to go to animal rescue charities, such as the above-mentioned groups. Memorial Service: Calvary Chapel Church - 8065 Valencia Street, Aptos, CA on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
