Obituary of Felix Dumapit Pepito

Felix was born on February 27, 1930 in Eva Zimables, Philippines to Casiano and Magdalena Pepito. He grew up in the Philippine Islands, later he lived in Guam and as a young man moved to San Francisco. In 1966 he moved to Santa Cruz. In his earlier years Felix was a bookkeeper for the US Navy as a civilian employee. He also worked as a carpet layer and later for American Airlines retiring in 2001. He loved bowling, gardening and was an avid Giants and 49'er fan. His friends and family looked forward to his BBQ's and homemade habanero chili sauce. He was a member of S.I.R.S and participated in the SIRS and SIRETTES Bowling Club. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dora Sanchez Pepito of Santa Cruz; children, Daniel Moreno of Santa Cruz, Jerry Alvarez of Dayton, NV, David Alvarez of Santa Cruz, Maria Aguirre of Santa Cruz and Martha (Marti) Meyer of Scotts Valley; sister, Percy Angosta of the Philippine Is; brothers and sisters in law, Jose and Dixie Martinez, Santos and Jill Sanchez and Pila Aguilar; grandchildren, Jonna Moreno, Brandon Alvarez, Katrina Alvarez and Gabriella Marie Alvarez; godchildren, Cathy Dela Rosa, Robert Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez and Andrea Martinez; He is also survived by five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz, CA on Sunday September 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be at Pacific Gardens Chapel on Sunday from 2:30 pm until service time. Felix's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Lopez, Sanchez, Chavez, Phelgar, Angosta, Lewis-Bass, Stanchfield and De La Cruz families. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to Hospice of Santa Cruz, 940 Disc Dr., Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
