Obituary of Vincent R. Cantacessi

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Scotts Valley on Monday for Vincent Cantacessi who passed away in Santa Cruz on March 10, 2013 at the age of 82. Born in San Francisco, Vince was raised there and in San Jose where he attended Bellarmine College Preparatory and later earned his bachelors degree from San Jose State University. For more than 40 years, he had a career in aerospace mechanical engineering. He worked for Lockheed, FMC, and while at General Electric, received two personal patents. Many fond memories will be cherished for his love of muscle cars, the family vacations at Lake Tahoe, and at the beach, and the quality time that he was able to spend with his family. Vince was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers, enjoyed bodybuilding, and was talented at designing and building homes. He was a parishioner of San Agustin Church in Scotts Valley. He is survived by his wife Marion Cantacessi, his sons, Bruce Cantacessi and Vince Cantacessi Jr., and his daughter Nina Cantacessi. Vince also leaves his eight loving grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew, and his sister, Joan Braconi. The mass will be on March 18, 2013 at San Agustin Church (257 Glenwood Drive Scotts Valley Ca. 95066) beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
