Obituary of Lynda Lee Grimes

Lynda Lee Grimes passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2012 at her home in Felton. Three days before her 69th birthday. Lynda was born in Ashland, Kentucky. She grew up in Kentucky and Arizona and moved to California in her late teens. Her family settled in San Jose where she was a graduate of San Jose High School. In 1982 Lynda moved to Felton where she met Howard Grimes and the couple married in 1983. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was described by her family as a "Domestic Goddess". Lynda loved holidays and took great joy decorating and preparing for them. She was very fond of teddy bears and had a vast collection. Lynda enjoyed nature and being outdoors, hiking and gardening. She enjoyed crocheting , scrapbooking and was an avid reader. She was a former member of the Lompico Ladies Book Club. She was preceded in death by her son, Brent Harralson in 1997. Her survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, Howard Grimes of Felton, daughters, Debbie Maxwell of Washington, Leah Barnes of New Mexico, Michelle Morton of Scotts Valley and Juanita Lee Maxwell-Grimes of Felton; sons, Timothy Grimes of Santa Cruz and Christopher Grimes of Ben Lomond; her sister Duane Ewing of Texas. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Lynnita Priebe, Hana Tojo, Dylan Graham, Sheena Morton, Harley Rhinehart, Anthony Morton, Anthony Henderson, Trevor Henderson, Tyler Henderson, Kyla Grimes and Malakai Grimes and one great grandchild, Hayden Priebe. Friends are invited to a visitation at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz, CA on Thursday May 17, 2012 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
