Obituary of John Robert Singer

Friends and family will gather on Saturday, April 5th to say farewell to John Singer who passed away unexpectedly at his Watsonville home. Born in Santa Cruz, he was 48 years old. John attended Good Shepherd Elementary and Aptos High Schools, and resided in Susanville, California for a time, before returning to Santa Cruz County. He was a very talented carpenter and concrete finisher, and leaves many dear friends and colleagues in the construction industry who will deeply miss him. Many fond memories will be cherished and treasured of John's love for hunting, fishing, racing jet skis and go carts. He was an accomplished disc golf player and a familiar face at the Pinto Lake Disc Golf Course where he volunteered his time. He is survived by his father Daniel Singer, his paternal grandmother Coral Singer; maternal grandmother, Lucille Williams, his sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Mike Johnson, his nephews and niece, Brett, Adam and Kaeli Johnson, and his dear companion and friend Gerry Anderson and her daughter Kristain Beaver. John was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Williams, and his grandfathers, Daniel Singer and Andrew Williams. A farewell ceremony will be on April 5, 2014 at Seacliff Beach State Park beginning at 11 a.m., where we all will wish John peace and happiness on his new journey. Refreshments will be served following the farewell service, and committal of his ashes will be private.
