Mina Marsh

Obituary of Mina Marsh

Mina Marsh of Aptos, CA and previously of Princeton, NJ passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at her home on January 1st. Dynamic, vivacious, a whirlwind of energy and passion, Mina was born to Jacques and Sarah Kluzckowski in Strasbourg, France. During the occupation, the family of seven moved to the Dordogne region which was part of Free France. After surviving WWII, the family moved to Paris which to this day is still their home base. Mina, a gorgeous redhead with a fiery personality met Bert Marsh on a blind date. Bert's French was weak at best, and Mina's English was non-existent; yet they fell in love and married. With a baby on the way, Bert took a job for the Stars & Stripes magazine in Germany where the couple celebrated the birth of their firstborn, Nadine. Six months later, Bert was transferred to Washington DC to work for the Pentagon. A few years later their second child Scott was born. Even though Bert wanted Mina to build a French-only home life, Mina loved moving to the United States and became a devout US citizen. Even without a high school education, she soon learned to speak, read, and write English. They settled in the DC area while Bert worked as cartoonist and an art director. Later they moved to Princeton, NJ for Bert's new job as Art Director for Scouting and Boys Life magazines. She raised two children, developed a reputation fierce bridge player, and was well known in social circles as a fabulous chief that threw amazing dinner parties. After Bert's passing, Mina received a small life insurance policy and invested the money wisely demonstrating her wizardry at running her personal finances. About twelve years after Bert passed away Mina met and married John Kibalo. They moved to California to be near her two children. John and Mina were socially active in the Aptos area and loved living near the beach. After many years together, John passed away. As a grandmother, Mina focused her energies on her beloved grandchildren; Suzanne and Christie Frush, and Lucas and Nicholas Marsh. Mina is survived by her sisters Betty and Esty, and her brother, Simon. Another sister, Annie is predeceased. Mina will always be loved and remembered by her children Nadine Frush and Scott B. Marsh, and her grandchildren. As per Mina's request, her ashes are to be interred next to her beloved Bert at the Quaker Cemetery in Princeton, NJ. The Frush and Marsh families would like to thank Mina's wonderful caregivers; Catherine, Lisa, Keri, Mona, Sky and Mei Jing for their love, kindness and devotion to Ms. Mina.
