Obituary of Suzanne Loumena Burtch

Suzanne Loumena Burtch peacefully passed away at home on August 29, 2012 with her family by her side. Suzanne was born October 19, 1941 to Henry & Elsie (Steed) Loumena in Manteca, CA. While attending Manteca Union High School, Suzanne met her high school sweetheart Michael Burtch. The two wed after graduating in 1959 and began their family. By the time Mike and Suzanne were 22 they had added 4 children to their loving family. Mike's job as a fire fighter brought Suzanne to many different cities, but eventually they settled down in San Jose for 28 years. Suzanne & Mike relocated to Santa Cruz 1988, and remained here ever since. Throughout her life Suzanne was a devoted Catholic and attended the Latin masses at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Los Gatos. She was also a very avid reader. So much so, that she had to create a library in her home to house her many books. Suzanne will forever be remembered for her immense generosity to several organizations. Suzanne is survived by her husband of 52 years Mike Burtch; her children Scott Burtch, Kelly Clawson, Jennifer Lynn, & Merrianne Rasmussen; her sisters Joan Early, Jacqueline Keller & Elsie Fleshman; and her 4 grandchildren. A Rosary service will be held for Suzanne on Friday, August 31st, at the shrine of St. Joseph's on West Cliff Drive beginning at 5:00 p.m.
