Obituary of Arnold R Gregg

Services will be January 7th for Arnold R. Gregg who passed away on December 9, 2011 in Santa Cruz. He was 76 years old. Arnie was born to Clarence Gregg and Margaret Verhines Gregg in 1935. He was born and raised in Santa Cruz and attended local schools; Soquel Elementary, Santa Cruz High School (class of 1954) and Cabrillo College. Arnie then served in the U.S. Army. After the Army, he started his 38 year career as a Quality Analyst in the Aerospace industry. He worked for Stewart Engineering and Watkins Johnson. Arnie had a lifelong love of racing. He competed in drag racing and went on to stock car racing with his son, Ken. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping and traveling. Arnie played football in high school, and he was always a fan of the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers. He was a member of SIRS- Sons in Retirement. Arnie is survived by his sons Ken Gregg and Joe Martinez (Lynn Steed), sister, Clarice Renollet and his very close friend Ruth Ditty. A Memorial Service for Arnie will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 115 S. Morrissey Blvd. in Santa Cruz beginning at 3:00 pm. Donations are preferred to the Cabrillo College Stroke Center 6500 Soquel Dr. Aptos, Ca 95003.
