Obituary of Lucille Madeline Casalegno Mogaard
Lucille Madeline Casalegno Mogaard, 99, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2021 in her Soquel home. She was born in 1922 to George and Vera Casalegno. She was a native of Santa Cruz and attended Mountain School, Mission Hill, and Santa Cruz High School. She worked as a legal secretary for Murphy and Adams Law Firm. She served as a volunteer for the Dominican Hospital Auxillary. She enjoyed egg decorating and travelling with her husband throughout the US in their travel trailer.
Lucille is survived by her son Martin Mogaard and his wife Lucy Van Doorn; her daughters Lydia (Bill) Gargan, Marilyn (Steve) Baldwin, and Marlene Laurila; 4 grandchildren, 8 nieces, and 5 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Hiram Mogaard; sister Loretta Szychowski; brothers Matthew, Ben, Bill, and Frank, and son-in-law David "Hap" Laurila. She and her family were very grateful for the loving care provided by her caregivers.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 27th at 11am at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, followed by a Graveside Service at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or an organization of your choice.
