Obituary of Corrinne Joanne Filice

Corrinne Joanne Filice A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Corrinne Filice who passed away in her home on October 7, 2011 . She was 86 years old. Born in Gilroy to John and Mary Perrelli, she moved with her family to Richmond where she spent her childhood. She attended the College of the Holy Names in Oakland and married Michael A. Filice in 1946. After their marriage, Corrinne moved to Gilroy where she devoted herself to raising her family. She also volunteered with the Gilroy Unified School District as an aide working with disabled children. She taught catechism for St. Mary Catholic Church in Gilroy for over fifteen years. After moving to Aptos with her husband in 1981 she became a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served as an Eucharistic minister for home-bound parishioners. Her hobbies included traveling, knitting, needlepoint and cooking. Her family will forever remember her unfailing devotion, her welcoming home, and her talent for cooking wonderful Italian meals for family and friends. Mrs. Filice was preceeded in death by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Michael A. Filice of Aptos and brother Phillip Perrelli of Lafayette, California. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Barbara Filice of Memphis, Tennessee, daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Richard Anderson of Santa Cruz, her sister Judy Huyck of Santa Cruz, and sister-in-law Julia Viarengo of Salinas. She also leaves her loving grandchildren: Sarah Anderson-Ludvik (Greg), Scott Anderson, Jeffrey Filice Jr. (Heather), Christine Filice-Evans (Colin), Patrick Filice (Stephanie) and four great-grandchildren: Bella and Brooks Filice, Danielle and Malia Evans. The mass will be held at Resurrection Church (7600 Soquel Drive) in Aptos on Wednesday, October 12th beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that remembrances be made to S.P.I.N.
