Obituary of Patricia Ann Mracek

Patricia A. Mracek 75, passed away peacefully at home September 17, 2012. Born in Merrick, New York, daughter of Beatrice (Young) & William Joseph Mracek. Pat worked many years for At&T, transferring from Long Island,NY to Santa Cruz,CA in 1968. She enjoyed her work, but her real gift was caring for others; first,for her mother, who passed away in 1957, then sister ,Linda, in 1982, and father in 1994. Pat was always able to find the fun in every situation. Even in her final days, struggling with a rare illness, her happy smile & bright blue eyes would light up the room. She is survived by her brother William R Mracek & wife Faith of Sequim, Washington. Nephew, William Jr, and wife Wendy of York, Maine; niece, Kathleen Mracek Augustini currently in Qatar; great nieces & nephews Holly Mracek, Carrie Cornacchio Cousins, Dustin Mracek, Joseph Anthony Cornacchio III. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, Gary Benito of Pacific Gardens Chapel and Pat's many friends & neighbors for their thoughtful support. A Memorial Service will be held for Pat on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Shrine of St. Joseph, 544 West Cliff Dr. in Santa Cruz beginning at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, or consider doing a random act of kindess for someone in need.
