Obituary of Frank Faust Miller

Friends and family will gather on Saturday in Santa Cruz, for a farewell ceremony honoring the life of Frank Miller who passed away peacefully in Santa Cruz this past Friday. Born in Los Angeles, he was 89 years old. Mr. Miller moved to the Santa Cruz area 52 year ago, and worked as an engineer with Lockheed. His career in aerospace spanned over 37 years; leaving a host of loving friends and dear colleagues that he enjoyed working with. He will forever be remembered as a dedicated father and grandfather. Mr. Miller's four children, whom he and his wife adopted from all very different circumstances, will continue to cherish the many memories of his love and concern he shared for them. He was a lifetime member of the Soquel High Boosters Club. Mr. Miller's involvement in the Booster's Bingo Games, was instrumental in the funding for both the football stadium and all-weather track at the high school. He was an avid reader, and volunteered his time at the Porter Memorial Library in Soquel, where he also served on its board of directors. Mr. Miller also volunteered at the Santa Cruz Public Library, and was a former member of Santa Cruz S.I.R.S. He loved sports of all kinds, particularly when it was his children or grandchildren competing in their athletic events. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Lee Miller in 1993, and is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Brenda Miller of Scotts Valley; his son John Miller of Santa Cruz; daughter and son-in-law Cecilia and Ross Fuller of Scotts Valley; and his daughter Gretchen Miller of Aptos. He also leaves his very dear friend and companion, Donna Nation of Scotts Valley, and five beloved grandchildren: Matthew, Melissa, Megan, Zarina, and Zane. The ceremony will be at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel in Santa Cruz on Saturday, March 29, 2014 beginning at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony beside his late wife Nancy, at Santa Cruz Memorial Park.
