Obituary of Patricia Combs

We'll love you forever, We'll Love you for always! As long as We're living, Our Mommy you'll be!!! .......by Robert Munsch A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on February 21, 2014 for Patricia Combs who passed away at her Aptos home on January 16, 2014, following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Pat - as she was affectionately known - moved to Aptos 37 years ago. She was an active parishioner of Resurrection Catholic Community Church in Aptos, and served as an acolyte there for 25 years. For more than 20 years, she worked in the administrative offices of Cabrillo College and volunteered her time with Dominican Hospital Auxiliary also. It was in 1977 that Pat moved to Soquel as co-owner of Flower Garden Nursery, working as office manager, bookkeeper, et al. Prior to moving to the Santa Cruz area, Pat resided in Fullerton and Los Altos, California, where she was a talented tennis player, skier, and practicing artist. But it was her family and friends and the devotion she had for them, that by far brought the greatest joys in her life. There will be many family memories forever cherished of Pat's love for entertaining her friends with her parties and gatherings. Pat is survived by her three children: daughter Terri and son-in-law Don Benac of Huntington Beach, daughter Liz Dorrian of Vallejo, and son Joe and daughter-in-law Lorraine Combs of San Jose. She leaves her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Deen Hart of New Orleans, five loving grandchildren: Kristen, Ryan, Blake, Charlotte, and Thomas, and her great-grandson, Seth. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Resurrection Catholic Church (7600 Soquel Drive) in Aptos beginning at 2 o'clock PM. Burial will follow immediately at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on the Church grounds. In lieu of flowers, any acts of charity may be made in Pat's memory to Resurrection Church's "Parish Assistance Ministry" or to the Dominican Hospital Foundation. God's Garden God looked around his garden and found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on Earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, 'Peace be Thine'. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you the day God called you home. ~author unknown
