Valerie Bowman

Obituary of Valerie P Bowman

Valerie passed away peacefully after a brave battle with cancer at the age of 77. She was raised in Norfolk, England where she attended school, pursuing a nursing career. Her life brought her to the United States in her twenties where she made her home in California; raising her family and making many friends. Valerie was an avid painter and loved to go camping along the coast with her family. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Sharon and John Perez of Santa Cruz, Sandi Steinke-Jones and Mike Jones of South Lake Tahoe, Jayne and Ron Heberle of Newhall, and her step-son, David Bowman of Santa Monica. She also leaves her sisters, June Drummond of England, Pat Tarallo of La Crescenta and brothers; Richard and David Kiddle of Canada. Valerie had eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her beloved husband, John Bowman, preceded her in death. The family would like to share a quote that they recently found; written by Valerie: "This is to all my lovely friends who have been so kind and gentle with my healing. I want to thank you so much for your laughter and smiles that made my days and nights more comfortable and relaxed. Life is an adventure- a remarkable journey of the soul" We also would like to give a special thanks to the staff and residents of Oak Tree Villa, Care From the Heart, Hospice of Santa Cruz County, and to her doctors for all of their care and support. Any kind acts of charity may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley CA. 95066.
