Obituary of Carole Joyce Nirady

Carole Joyce Nirady of Aptos passed away unexpectedly on January 30. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, she is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Dr. Alan Nirady, and her daughters, Dr. Lisa Nirady Pristas and Karla Cleary. Carole was born in East Cleveland, Ohio, graduated from Shaw High School in East Cleveland; and attended Bowling Green State University. She spent many memorable years in Kansas City, MO and Battle Creek, MI. She then moved to Aptos, where she lived for the past 30 years. Carole was involved in the Junior League of Monterey County for many years. She was a licensed real estate agent and enjoyed working and helping people. She was always very generous and giving of her time and energy throughout her life. Carole enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading, skiing and spending time with her beloved pet dogs. She had a joyous sense of humor and was always full of life and optimism and changed many lives for the better. She will be forever missed by family and friends. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Max and Natalie Pristas, and Ava and Cal Cleary; sons-in-law Dr. Rene Pristas and Mac Cleary; Alan's sister Karyn D'Avignon and her husband Dr. Marc D'Avignon, nephews Ross and Marc E. D'Avignon, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will take place at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga, Santa Cruz from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Memorial service will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
