Obituary of Kathleen Ann Warmerdam

KATHY WARMERDAM Private services were held in Santa Cruz on Saturday for Kathy Warmerdam who passed away at her Santa Cruz home on December 2, 2010. She would have celebrated her 45th birthday on December 28th. Kathy was born in Tulare, California and moved with her family to Aptos at the age of 2. A talented athlete, she graduated from Aptos High School and began a career in food service that spanned over 21 years. Kathy worked at Deluxe Foods in East cliff village as a clerk, and also on the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. For many years she was a nutritional specialist and prepared meals for the students at Del Mar Middle School and also worked at Driftwood Convalescent Hospital as a nursing assistant. Kathy enjoyed collecting rocks and shells, and was accomplished at crocheting and making jewelry. She loved her son Cory with all of her heart and soul, and she will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother and father, Bill and Pat Warmerdam of Aptos, her son Cory LaBorde and his father Raymond LaBorde of Santa Cruz; her sisters, Susie Biondi of Aromas, Barbie Norman of Santa Cruz, Heidi Thomas of Hollister, and her brother, Cris Warmerdam of Aptos, along with many loving relatives. Kathy was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Warmerdam Rodriguez and Joann Warmerdam, and her brother, Billy Warmerdam. Burial was also private. An educational trust fund has been established for Kathy's son Cory at Comerica Bank, account number 9414-04061-9. The account will be administered by Cory's grandmother, Ellie LaBorde.
