Obituary of Betty Jane Strauch

52 Year Resident of Santa Cruz County Betty Strauch passed away on June 16, 2014 in Santa Cruz at the age of 84. She was born in Sacramento, California, raised there, and and graduated from CK McClatchy High School in 1947. It was also there that Betty met Sacramento native, and her future husband of 61 years, Dick Strauch, who preceded her in death in February if 2011. Moving to Santa Cruz in 1963 she worked as a billing clerk for ACE Lumber, which became San Lorenzo Lumber in 1978. Betty enjoyed gardening and volunteered much of her time for the California Grey Bears. She also leaves many friends and care givers at Sunshine Villa where she has resided for the past year. Betty leaves her loving sons and daughters-in-law, sons, Rick and Debbie Strauch of Scotts Valley, and Bill and Shelley Strauch of Santa Cruz. She also is survived by her 3 grandsons: John, Nicholas, and Daniel, and 1 great-grandson. Any kind acts of charity can be made in her memory to Hospice of Santa Cruz County.
