Obituary of Joni Priestley

Private family services have been held for Joni McHugh Priestley who died peacefully at her Aptos, California home on January 5, 2012. Born in Yuba City, California on July 2, 1943, she was 68 years old. Joni graduated from Notre Dame High School in Marysville. She was a long time resident of the Santa Clara Valley; moving to the Santa Cruz area 37 years ago and made her home in Aptos her with beloved husband Gerry. She worked at Hewlett Packard as a marketing and sales coordinator, with a career that spanned over 19 years. She was an accomplished gardener, and her family will forever cherish the many memories of her love for African Violets, her collectables, the many gatherings at Severino's with family and friends, and her passion for animals. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Paul "Gerry' Priestley of Aptos, her daughters, Mary Jennifer Logan of Reno, NV, Susan Fish of Alameda, and Emily Priestley Gullixson of La Selva Beach. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Lindsey, Katie, Hannah, Roland, Colin, and Quinn. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Milton McHugh Jr., her parents Mary Margaret Sullivan McHugh and William Milton McHugh, Sr. A private committal at sea is under the direction of Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.
